Hey everyone, sorry if this is the wrong section but since my question isn't about my Wrangler I was a bit lost.
Took my 2000 Cherokee into the shop yesterday because the airbag light was on, horn not sounding and turn signals out. From what I've read, it's a simple part that needs to be replaced and will take care of all of the above. However, the shop called me and said they couldn't get my steering wheel off, it was "stuck" and they'd have to cut it off rather than removing it in the normal fashion. They estimated this would cost me 600 to a thousand dollars once everything was all said and done with a replacement wheel.
This seems really odd to me. I declined and took my Jeep home. Can someone let me know if there is some trick to removing the wheel they may not have been familiar with, or if I should just let this happen? Seems like an awful lot of money to spend on a repair for a 12 year old vehicle.
