Wasn't there another list recently of the top "American" vehicles where the top few were imports?

Here's an index of the top 253 most American Made vehicles. GM, Chrysler and Ford are the only ones in the top 33 on the list.

They used the following factors to give each vehicle an overall score:
  • Profit Margin: Where the automaker's global headquarters is located
  • Labor: Where the car is assembled
  • Research and Development
  • Inventory, Capital, and Other Expenses: Location of assembly
  • Engine and Transmission: Location of production
  • Body, Interior, Chassis, Electrical, and Other: Location of production
  • National Highway Traffic Safety Administration AALA "Domestic Content" Score
New Auto Index Redefines "American Made" Cars

Some foreign brands do have factories here, so American Made could sort of fit i suppose. Theres even a toyota in NASCAR now .

But patriotic is a different story. I read that headline too, i think jeep and ford were the only automakers on the list that i remembered. And i guess jeep naming their cars things like Liberty and Patriot and such helps them out some. And the Freedom edition wrangler. No other automaker comes to mind as giving vehicles patriotic names at the moment.

Oh yeah Harley Davidson was on there too. But that's bikes.

I used to hunt with a guy whose father survived the Bataan Death March. When he would brag about his 4runner I would ask him how his Dad liked it.
That would usually shut him up.

The list is dubious at best.
