Jeep Look Alikes

Can anyone tell me what this is?

I found it when hanging out with the Jordanians. After further inspection I realized the odd grill (initially just thought it was an after market), but noticed it didn't say "Jeep" anywhere inside or outside of the vehicle, and the rear suspension had leaf springs. I've heard of some Brazilian company making Jeep look alikes (Troller) but had no luck finding anything outside of the older models.

Aside from that, it looked exactly like a JK. Nonetheless, it was pretty awesome. Especially seeing it in a military environment.

IIRC, some of the Jeeps built for other countries for military purposes had rear leafs. Better for hauling more weight and towing trailers. The J8 has rear leafs, I think.

it would be a J8... AEV imported a bunch of motor-less shells (all in pieces and assembled at AEV in Montana) to the states from the MFG that jeep was working with in Egypt a few years back... its basically a 3/4 ton JK with a D60 in the rear and a 44 up front... most are diesel, but the stock motor they put in them overseas doesn't meat US emissions standards... the sheet metal is way heavier too...

Nice. I just noticed there wasn't any Jeep insignia on it but instead it had some emblem of a four point star within a circle. Either way, it was awesome and a great relief to see from all the Land Rover Defenders and Toyota Land Cruisers.

Much appreciated.
