Jeep wave and the Fiancee, problem, help me!!!

Okay here's the deal I have a new to me 95 YJ Rio, nothing fancy. 1" body lift, 1 3/4" shackle lift (free) and a set of 31 A/T's. I had a 01 TJ basically stock, decent wheels w/32's before I got the love of my life. Can't afford CJ so YJ was only option and happy with what I have.

Since I have gotten the YJ, I have had a lot more waves, YJ isn't as nice as the TJ but not bad for age difference. My fiancee gets so T'd when people wave and I wave back or vice versa. It drives her nuts, what can I do to explain?

Took me forever for her to understand they are looking at the Jeep not her, when people looked at it. I finally got her to understand we look for admiration and parts ideas.

Any help here is appreciated, who else has had this problem. It's worse when a woman is doing the waving. Also to note she hates dirt, yeah I know but what are you gonna do we have kids. LOL

Obviously she doesn't get the "Jeep Thing" and she probably never will. So either get used to her jealousy or tell her to get over herself and just ignore it. You could try joining a club so she can see you aren't the only person afflicted with the "Jeep Thing" but since she doesn't like dirt I doubt you'd get her to go. Congrats on the YJ tho.

Thanks, I can get her to mud with the top up, which I guess is a compromise (or one I will take at least). Just hoping maybe with enough post from people and letting her read them she might understand more and stop thinking I'm a nut. (I am no lying but for different reasons, lol)

I'm a AL redneck not ashamed but she's the girl from the city, we have a Green Acres thing going on, but she's outnumbered the boys are like me. Only thing she does give credit to the Jeep is our youngest boy loves it the most, has Cp and can look around and feel ther air.

I agree with CenAr. Find a local club and get the boys to talk her into going along on a trail ride. She will meet other Jeep spouses/significant others and maybe it will sink in that we are one big extended family (dysfunctional albeit, but a family just the same). Who knows, she might even have fun.

My wife thinks its cool the way all JEEP owners wave each other, she can't get over the fact that a vehicle can do so much. she even does it now from the passenger seat. I would seriously just trade her in for another model......

My fiance loves the jeep and totally gets the jeep wave and thinks it's awesome, and it's like one big crazy family!

I say trade her in for a better model!

Try something less abrasive than asphalt, like....... just put a "its a jeep thing you wouldn't understand" sticker on the dash right in front of her seat oh and when she is not looking put a "wave at me if you like jeeps" sticker on her car haha

My advice would be about the same go to a jeep club or to a jeep jamboree and let her talk to some of the other women that are there as wives and maybe they can explain it to her. I had the same issue with my wive on somethings but more about the build and not about the waves.

So let me get this straight, your fiancee gets mad when you wave at Jeeps and they wave back? Dump her now before she becomes eligible for alimony. I can tell you from experience that it will get worse rather than better after you say "I do." Kick her to the curb.

I think it's like the stated before about the whole working on it too. She hates when I disappear for hours on end to work on it, always asks me what's broken now. I then of course reply nothing yet I haven't started working on it, lol. She's a car person for sure, but I have to give it to her she doesn't fuss about the ride as much as she used to.

I have to admit, when I joked around with her saying I was going to put a Hummer recovery sticker on the windshield she fell out laughing, so she actually hates Hummers.

She read the posts and I think she gets it now, she has a buddy that rides a Harley so with her reading this and him telling her the whole deal she gets it now I think.

I live with her so I have no clue about anything except how to kill a spider, then I am the master of the universe, lol. All of you posting has actually helped a lot. She got on her PC and now wants a Cherokee, it's a start. Of course this is going to be like the old Star Wars thing, the saga continues.
