Teal J, don't worry about it, we still like ya.
More and more people who own jeeps aren't "jeep people." They buy jeeps because they're "cute" or "cool" and have no idea what that there is a jeep lifestyle.

You have to take into consideration that sometimes, people just don't notice. I am a little fanatical/ocd about it. I can be on a 6 lane interstate and see a Jeep coming the other direction a full 6 lanes over, and I still wave. Most folks don't seek out Jeeps. When I drive, I always have my eyes open for Jeeps and always wave. I don't get upset if I don't get one back. Either they just don't know the deal because no one ever informed them, don't care, or didn't see me. Either way, I wave at EVERY Jeep, because when I do get that wave back, it always puts a big smile on my face and gives me that warm fuzzy feeling.

I've become bitter and selective about waving. About 80% of the Jeep drivers locally are young ladies who are either on their cell phone or applying makeup or fiddling with the radio while driving and don't look around. For the other 20 %, if we make eye contact then I wave. Otherwise it's like naterg wrote, busy driving not looking. Too many cars on the road here to enjoy the luxery of looking for other Jeeps.

damn and thats a problem for you? having all the "young ladies" I had the same problem around here except I have all these very cute women waving to me and one day I was sitting at the stop light and the passenger of the car next to me jumped out of the car hopped into my passenger seat and gave me her number. I love my jeep.

I live in Cal too, and I must say that he is 100% right about the ladies.... I can't complain though, they always wave to me. Plus I get some #'s when I leave the gym sometimes

The wave has started a jealousy trend at my house. Nothing like 2 or 3 pretty girls with a friendly wave to start some shit with the one in the passenger seat. Try and say, "I don't know who that was", and see where it gets you. It leads to, " If you didn't know her, then why did you wave back?". She'll just have to get over it, I'm still wavin.

Jeep Wave

Okay, I'd like to know about this. Every jeep I pass waves at me. I wave back of course, but I'd like to know about this a little more. Does this come from saluting back when jeeps were military?

Jeep Wrangler owners are kinda like our own little family. We just like to recognize other wranglers that we see. So you better wave, even if the other driver doesn't see you ... atleast wave at the jeep. We are in a breed of our own and proud to own a jeep wrangler.

This reminds me...
Yesterday on my way to work I'm at a stoplight. A silver JK 2 door softtop pulls along side me, with a mom and 3? year old boy in the passenger seat. She points, and says 'Look, a Jeep". He looks a while, analyzing my rig, before he gives me a thumbs up. Their light turned green, and she pulled away. As she was goin, I see out the side window of the soft top, another tiny little thumbs up. Made my morning.

Oh, I wave back, but it feels like some shit we used to do in the humvee's in the desert. Actually pretty much any GOV when we were driving around.

I wave, and usually I'll get a wave back. But I've never got a wave from a JK owner... I think the JK drew in a more mainstream crowd that, well, just doesn't get it. No offense to you JK guys here.

Also, I've noticed a recent trend around here. At night, Jeepers will flash their foglights if they have them, since they can't wave. I thought that was kinda neat.

I notice Jeeps so much more, since I bought mine. I always wave, no matter what! I just get excited to see another Jeep, heck I don't care who's driving, but chances are...we got FUN in common! (BTW, here in the MetroMess, wave backs are rather uncommon, but I got one the other day, from a lady in a TJ, making a left turn, while on her cell phone!)(today on the way home, I commented on a Grand Cherokee, as it was being washed..."Pretty Jeep!" I said, the lady washing it said, "I like yours too!" Made my day )
