I always wave and my wife gets a kick out of it. Some don't wave back. The real jeepers do though. But for some reason no one in south florida wants to put the top down. I'm usually waving out the window or the top.

It's becoming increasingly rare in just the last year. I'm now passing jeeps w/mods and get no wave or return wave. Troubling.

I'v got to the point I don't care if I don't get a wave back from people. Maybe they will see me wave and they will start doing it.

I have only seen 2 other jeeps in my town, and the other day I saw a older man driving one in the other lane coming at me. I tossed him a wave and he just gave me a dirty ass look like "Who the hell are you?". Oh well

I wave at all jeeps that look like they go wheeling/mods and most TJs/Yjs (dont see any cj's) the JK's never wave its usually the rich asshats driving around my town with there fully loaded rubi and dont understand how their locker even works and doesent notice a diff. when they press button's

if there around my age (18) I usually in to where their park and ask then if there interested in wheeling with me and my jeep friends

when im in the fire truck we all wave at jeepers and bikers, my whole company either has a bike or a jeep

It definately is a totally different community than anything I've ever been a part of before. The only place I find asshats that don't do the jeeper wave is on I-5, but that's not really the jeeps enviroment.

It's good to see people all over will do it.

I catch myself doing this too sometimes, but usually the one touch down power windows in my dd "reminds" me what I'm about to do BEFORE I get the "WTF Stoopid?!" look..

I'm new to the Jeep community after driving muscle cars for years. When I first started driving my Jeep about 3 months ago, I wasn't more that a couple miles from the guy I bought it from, when another Jeep passed me and waved. I thought, he thought I was someone else. Then another Jeep waved to me, and I thought "how cool is this". Now, I wave to every last Jeep I see. Of course, nobody in a 4-door jeep waves here in Nashville, but damn I still wave anyway. I just can't wait for summer when I can take the top off.

Seems to depend on where I am more than anything else. Around here, most of the roads in town are four lane with a median, while the more rural roads are two lane. I get about a 90% wave back ratio on a two lane road, and maybe 10% on a four lane.

In rush hour traffic, I pretty much have to stay focused on what's directly in my path or vice-versa, rather than what's on the other side of the median. I gave up waving in town when I nearly rear-ended someone cause I was gawking and waving at an awesome looking CJ.

I always wave and 90% of the time i get a wave back too.

I actually have a funny story about the wave. I was driving down the road once and i saw a fellow TJ coming out of a wendy's drive thru. I gave him a wave not expecting anything back cause he was sorting all his food but to my suprise he actually waved. In the process of waving i could see that he spilled all of his food all over himself . Now thats a dedicated jeeper, he put his whole meal at risk just to wave to a fellow jeeper!! God bless you sir, wherever you are lol.

People around here love their jeeps, and almost all of them wave.

When I had the Jeep in Florida, the wave was standard. Here on the island, every other car is a Jeep so I might at well just leave my arm hanging out so, no waves

Ooooh, I'm jealous, I was there once, many years ago, very pretty place. The water was so blue it didn't look real!

Do they still do that passenger sight seeing sub ride thing? That was pretty cool, right up until a diver almost lost his fingers feeding hot dog chunks to some big-ass fish!

I wave to jeepers all the time.

just my story today at college there was this other wrangler parked on a snowbank. I see a kid walking towards it so i'm like yep what more can you want. Waiting for a jeep to pull out of the snow bank so you can park on top of that snowbank wohoo

I've had that happen before too. There were 3 babes and some random ass guy in the back (I laughed because the hot chick was driving the Jeep and he wasn't) and they all full-arm waved after I waved. It made my day.

You are partially right about saluting Jeeps in the military. Of course back when Jeeps were used in WWII, it was a common curtesory to salute an officer driving by. Of course, if I were to see a Bird or a couple of stars on any military vehicle, you are required salute. Lol don't ask me what will happen if you don't.....believe me, some of these officers have nothing better to do than give ya a hard time.
