Jeep Wrangler

Hi there, we are in the process of purchasing a Jeep Wrangler 2013. Nothing special just automatic locks and doors, no soft top etc. We got the manufacturer incentive of $3250 off and an additional $2400 off. At the end of it all it cost $28800 from $34000. This does not include the freight and dealer costs and tax. Can someone please tell me if we got a good deal or not, I feel we could have made a better deal.

Go to someplace such as cars.com or edmunds.com and build one according to the options on the window sticker. At the end it will show you the MSRP and the invoice price. Subtract 1% off the invoice and that is what you could buy it for through the Chrysler Affiliate Rewards program.

Compare that price with what they quoted you to see if you're getting a good deal. To me it sounds pretty good already. If you are trading something in be careful - a good deal on a new vehicle is frequently lost when they try to low-ball you on the trade.

Also, what freight and dealer costs? The freight from the factory is already included in the MSRP. Watch for high dollar dealer prep fees or other BS that they may try to add to the list. I've heard of doc fess at closing of over $400-$500. They are $75 through the Affiliate Rewards program.

Say no to the extended warranty if they offer it at closing. You can get the same Chrysler warranty much cheaper if you shop around. One forum member who is also a Jeep sales person sells the max care lifetime warranty for under $2,000. I was offered it to me for over $3,000 at closing.

Thanks for your response.
The sale price is $28,800.66 then they added Registration Fee $393,Freight $1,695,Fed A/C tax 100, admin fee 299 and pre-delivery expense 289 + tax so $31,581.66 before tax. The original ticket price was $33,325.00. It sounds good, but is it?

Again, what's this freight charge? Is it being transferred from a different dealer or something? The basic freight from the plant in Toledo is already included in the MSRP. It is called the Destination Charge and can be seen at the bottom of the list on the window sticker for $995.

It sounds to me like they're offering you an initial low price and then "nickle and diming" you with a lot of miscellaneous things to raise the price. What did the price come out to be when you did the 1% below invoice calculation that I mentioned?

I can't do it. I am in Canada I guess its different in the US. Freight charges fees incurred to bring the car over from the factory.

Hmmm, I got ripped off! I was told there were no manufacturer incentives or discounts or rebates when I got Sport a few weeks ago. Sheesh!

It could very well be that when you purchased your truck the incentives were not there. Do you think I got a good deal? maybe I am just second guessing because it is so much $$$$$$
