Angry Jeep Wrangler Unlimited License plate problem

I just bought a Jeep Wrangler Unlimited and noticed that the back license plate is set up differently than other Jeeps. It has two screw holes set up vertically on the left side and two protruding metal buttons on the right sides to place of the opposite screw holes. How the heck do you attach a novelty license plate frame to this type of contraption?? The normal frames have the two screws horizontally on top to fasten it. There has got to be a way to fasten it properly - possibly drilling a hole where the metal button is?? Any suggestions on this before I start drilling would be great.

I can't believe something as stupid as this has gotten me so frustrated at this Jeep!

Thanks for any help on this!

My 08 is set up the same way. Not missing a bracket. I also thought about doing a little drilling to be able to put a frame around the plate.

The right side of the plate slides under the tabs that are on that side of the frame.

Here are some pics- you can see the white plastic "holder" that the license plate sits in with the screws on the left and the metal "buttons" on the right. As you can see, there is no way to fix a frame to what Jeep has built into the vehicle that I can tell. Hopefully someone comes up with a suggestion. We have had alot of license plates stolen off these Jeeps because the theif only has two screws instead of four to work with- I bought hex nut screws but it looks pretty tacky without a "frame".

It would still not look the greatest
But Take the frame and two bolts on the right
and bolt together back ward nut towards you
then attach whole thing the jeep
it will still only be on with 2 bolts but look like 4 and
you will have your holder on there

I used 2 very short self taping screws and small washers. Screwed em right into the plastic nubs on the right side. Be sure to use short ones or they will scratch the paint behind the license mount.
