Jeep wreck on TV - no problemo !!

Was watching the local NBC affiliate news tonight. They showed some footage of a Jeep Wrangler skidding on ice on a freeway somewhere, crossing into the median, hitting the barrier wire and tipping over on it's side.
They then mentioned that the driver got some help righting his Jeep and continued on his journey - gotta love Jeeps, and Jeep drivers *grins*

I seen that too. I looked over at my wife and said, "That's what I'm talking about." The wreck looked pretty bad, but they said he crawled out and got some help to flip it back over. Then he got in it and drove off. Makes me want to go flip mine......not really...LOL!

It's a Portland, OR local station kgw.com - but, the video was on the television, a national news segment, so doubt it's on their website..........

Thx for the link. I wished they showed it being righted and driving away. Ice is not fun at all to drive on in a Jeep. I did a 720 @ 60 mph once while driving north in the rain when I hit the rain/ice line. Luckily there was no one around and I somehow stayed on the road. 10 miles farther up the road there was 6" of snow on the ground and by the time the day was done, there was 12" on the ground. I drove the hour home that night and had no snow at my house. I hate mid-atlantic winter weather.

Cool. Looked like it was a relatively soft flop so it probably didn't do a lot of dammage.

of course the a-hole in the H3 just kept right on driving by and didn't even stop to help.

Ice is bad no matter what you are driving or how many wheel drive you have. 4wd is just added confidence in ice and that often leads to bad things. Its just two more wheels under power with no traction. I feel that some of the "smart" 4wd systems like in the new Grand Cherokee are better suited for most daily driver poor road conditions and with the select terrain you can get some pretty good ground clearance out of them.

Yeah that's crazy. If I see someone having a problem I stop and ask if there ok. You would think if you watched a roll over someone would stop. I'm sure the road was bad and everyone was white knuckle as it was and probably half the people didn't even see that
