Jeeperman vs RockHard

I am NOT a patient person.

Jeeperman's rear bumper / swing away looks like a high quality product. However they are 4-6wks wait time for delivery.

My second choice would be the RockHard bumper / swing away.

It does not appear the RockHard has adjustable brackets to compensate for a BL and the Jeeperman does. Other than that, they appear to be similar. Is Jeeperman worth the extra dollars and wait time, or is RockHard as good (or even better)? The Jeeperman bumper is $150 more expensive and their racks (which I plan on getting) are also about $150 more. I dont mind spending the extra money on a better product.

Did I mention, I am NOT a patient person? Why would a company sell products they dont have.. and wont have for 6 wks?

So what are your opinions on my situation?

I'm a big fan of Rock Hard bumpers. They have quality stuff.

I would order which ever you want. The wait time may seem stupid, but they have to make all of them. And with the JK's being new and them not have made enough to make stock and keep up with demand is putting them in a crunch where they have to put a wait time on. I order which ever and just wait.

Wonder if Rockhard components will work on a Jeeperman bumper setup...

It does take time to fab up the stuff. Im sure they are in demand so six weeks seems fair.

I havent seen many positive remarks about Jeeperman. I have seen many good things about Rock Hard, so I canceled my Jeeperman order. I now have a RockHard bumper/swing away in transit along with a rock rack. Getting the rock rack with the RH bumper only cost $75 more than the JM bumper (w/ no rack).

The 4-6wk wait time ruined it for me. I find it really crappy for a vendor to sale products they dont have. I ordered the RH today, and it will be ready to ship tomorrow.. that's the way to do business.

Its not their fault that production can't keep up with the demand. You say it like they should have a stockpile in a warehouse somewhere so anytime someone orders one they can grab it and ship it out. Its not that simple for big things like that bumper.... and especially for such a new vehicle.

It absolutely is their fault. They should not mass-market a product if they cannot keep up with the demand of their neighborhood. As for this being a new vehicle.. they were making their bumpers in Nov-Dec 2006 for the JKs. I think they could have an inventory by now.

By that same logic, car makers should build ALL the cars they are going to build and never allow orders.

How many here have ordered a car? I have ordered 2, both from Germany. Try a 3 month wait.

I can't / won't address Jeeperman's issues since the ownership has taken over as I haven't dealt with them since then. Quality-wise, they are damn stout and have held up to some SERIOUS hits and drops with just a few scratches.

Their customer service (at that time) was excellent. I had initially purchased a non-tire carrier version of the bumper, but then went to 33's. I talked to the owner, who let me RETURN The non-carrier version and gave me a credit towards the tire carrier version. Where else would you find service like that? Yes, the wait was a couple of weeks, but I realize a LOT of this is fabbed as you order it (and you have custom options ALWAYS available to you).

No, I dont see it that way. If bumpers had as many option combinations as a car, it could compare.. but they dont. I was not ordering a custom bumper.. just their regular tire/swing away.

I still think it looks like a great product.. before you, I have not seen anyone say how good the product actually is. I like the looks and features of it but as I started this thread.. I am not patient. 6 wks turned out to be more than I wanted. I am not knocking the product.. I am knocking their mgmt.

I have recently read they are having problems with their powder coater and that if I wanted it bare metal, I could possibly have it earlier. If that's the case, they need to find a new vendor or start paying their current vendor more to prioritize their products... IF they think they are losing orders due to the wait (which maybe isnt many based on ppl's comments here).

Jase, I would agree with your comment of product quality vs management quality. They definitely appear to have issues to get worked out.

In my wheeling, I've gone into rocks and come down directly on top of rocks from a foot or more up. Rattled my teeth something fierce, and only gotten a few scratches on the bumpers as a result. Jeeperman product quality is excellent and the powdercoating HAS stood up over time. But I agree, that wait seems WAY too excessive for my tastes, and I try to be patient... TRY being the key word.
