Jerry can coating question

I have 2 Jerry cans on the back of my TJ, a red one for gas ,and one I painted blue for water. I want to clean the inside and use some kind of sealant/coating in it to make it safe for drinking water. Does anyone know of a sealant/coating for this purpose?

O'Reilly's sells a sealant called RedKote. It works real good.

You should actually read the question before trying to give answers.
This is taken from Redkote's website.
Warnings:
Red-Kote is only for use lining the
inside of fuel tanks containing gasoline or diesel
fuel. Do not use with bio-diesel fuel. Do not use
with racing fuels unless you have discussed
your particular mixture with our chemist to find
out if it will work. Do not use with water/waterbased

substances, especially potable water.

If I were you, I'd get one of the blue plastic water jerry cans off the web and use that for water instead. nothing to line. I just ordered one myself to use in my dual jerry can setup in my jeep.

I'm with Denis. No matter how well you clean it there are still lubricants inside a gas can.
