jet performance chips

Hey gang,

Just asking if any of you guys are running the Jet performance chips on your rides... and if so, how do you like them? I was just looking at some and wondered if they actually worked...

even if you're running some type of "performance chip" or enhancer or something, does it work? which are you running?

Thanks,
Carlos

Both... I have a buddy that put a chip in his rig...no appreciable difference to substantiate the cash. A little better throttle response IMO - is not worth that cash.

you wont notice much with the chip alone,

add an intake, a chip, and a free flow exhaust.. thats what makes the difference.

Totally agree. It needs to be done on a system level, not just component. By the time you spend all that cash (intake, chip, exhaust, etc) your overall performance increase (dollar per hp gain ratio) does not warant the expense IMHO.

In the end, it's still a truck motor not a quarter mile runner.

if you get the edge set up (the intake exhaust and chip) you will notice a difference but alone you wont notice nothing

adding the chip alone is like adding a turbocharger downpipe without the turbo

Vector what does the chip allow you to modify and how much can you change it to?

so basically YOU the user cannot control it? Its already programed and thats it?

You cannot customize the fuel mixture and the timing with it yourself?

im running a jet performance chip with exhaust and intake, all came on it when i got it, but it makes a 4 cyl seem not so bad so it must be doing something, ive read that the chips are almost useless unless you modify the exhaust and intake so....

Judging from the 35's in your sig and the 4 banger comment in your post I'll bet somebody did the gears and you're getting more from that than the chip.
