Exclamation Jetski Towing Question

Hi, I'm new to the forums. Sorry if this is posted in the wrong place.

First off, I purchased a 2013 MOAB edition Wrangler last March. I just recently installed a MOPAR tow kit on the MOAB. I was wondering about how well these things can launch and pull a jetski out of water.

I have a 2012 Waverunner-745 pounds and a ShoreLander trailer-265 pounds.

I've already towed the jetski across a state: about 500 miles, but I haven't attempted to launch the jetski or pull it from the water of a lake. How well would my model do? I just don't want to end up submerging my Wrangler or unable to pull the jetski and trailer from the water.

you will be perfectly fine. the wrangler will not have any issue dragging the ski and trailer in and out of the water.

I would guess you wouldn't have any trouble whatsoever, especially with hill hold. If in doubt, just toss it in 4Hi. I'd say the only limiting factor would be your trailer, whether it is an actual marine trailer (with the extra length of the tongue). If so you shouldn't have any trouble.

I tow my own jet ski, although its only about 280lbs (1988 stand up) on a short utility trailer, and my Wrangler pulls it likes its not even there.

My ski weighs about the same. No issues.

If you're a 2 door know that the short wheel base can make things a bit squirrely if you have to brake fast and hard.

Just leave plenty of room for braking and you'll be fine.

100% no issues I used to trailer 2 SeaDoo XP (750lbs each) to NC from NY launched 100x times no issues at all.

Another bit of advise, in case you run into the same issue I did.

Because of my tire size (33s) the hitch ball sat way to high. I got a drop hitch that helped, but found I couldn't get the hitch over the ball as the hitch lock was hitting the spare.

My solution was that I found I can open the gate to get the spare out of the way and am able to hitch up w/ no issue.

Eventually I'll just get a drop hitch that drops further down, but this works for now.

Just giving you a heads-up in case you run into the same issue.
