JK or TJ

Hello everyone. My first post. I am looking to buy either a TJ or JK 3dr. I want a 6 spd manual trans for sure. What are your opinions on the inline 6cyl or the 3.8v6. Not an off road guy but it is nice to have 4x4 with the snows we get here in Winnipeg. Will be using it as a daily driver instead of having to crank up the cummins. Just interested in any inherent problems with either engine or transmission.

Thanks,

Slauso

I'm not sure about problems with the JK engine, bu the '05 and '06 TJ has a (managable) problem with abnormal wear of the OPDA lower gear. Knowing the problem for what it is and how to manage it has not detered me from owning an '06.

I am a fan of the 4.0
I am not a fan of the 3.6

Reasons...
My 15 year old 4.0 doesn't burn, leak, or use a drop of oil.
My 4 year old 3.6 uses/burns about a quart a week.

I'm not the only one either. Search the JK section for "oil burning"

Going from a 06 LJ rubi to a 2011 JKU rubi for me it would be the JK. But with my wife, son ,his friends it makes thing easy. If it's just you go with the TJ.
And if it was just me I would've kept the LJ. But as far as JK problems, never had any. ( Knock on wood )
