Jk stick shifter knob removal

It's got a new sifter for my 2012 jk can anyone help me out on how to take the original stock shifter knob off? Thanks

Take a dry wash cloth or and towel. Twist it tightly around the knob only. Grab the loose end of the towel as close to the knob as you can and pull straight up. When it comes off it gives no warning so make sure your hand doesn't hit anything when it comes off. That loose end of the towel just gives better grip, keeps the knob from flying off, and keeps from scratching things up.
