JK X D44 HD Rear Dif pic

Dont know if anybody is interested but I just found out from the factory that my 07 Wrangler X Came with a Next Gen D44 HD Rear end. Unfortunatly it still came with the standard 3.21 Gears. Does anybody know why they class this as a HD differential? Just curious

Because they won't break, like the POS D35c.
Your axle strength is what makes them HD, not the gearing.

What you actually have there is the Standard D44. If yours would've had a 12 bolt cover then it would've been interesting as we are still kind of trying to determine when/where Jeep is using the 12 bolt Titan housing.

That's a good axle you have there. 32 spline shafts and bigger tubes than the D44 in the TJ's.

32 spline shafts is awesome. That beats an 8.8.
