just a small consumer complaint, cafepress.com stickers, tshirts

just a small rant nothing big here, but wanted to give a heads up for anyone else who may be looking at the place.

cafepress.com has some cool stuff, designs and sayings and whatnot, on stickers, tshirts, etc.

i found these i'm gonna put on my jeep above the jeep logo on each side:

but here's what's gone wrong on that; they have that in 4 types,
od(olive drab) with opaque backing
od with clear backing (good to use on windows)
kaki with opaque backing
kaki with clear backing

and then i also found they have it in reverse-flag, useful for the right side of your vehicle, in
od with opaque back
od with clear back

i've bought one of each of these 6, here's what's not right:
1.) the reverse-flag ones aren't the same color as the other od ones,
2.) and their star pattern is significantly different!

3.) the left-side flags in OD have a tan-ish border, none of any of the other flags have any border (what i'd prefer).

^you can see the diff in the stars on each of these pics here.

so i'm stuck with putting a left-side flag on the right of my vehicle,
or i can put a proper right-flag on the right side, but it won't exactly match the other side.

lastly a tshirt, got one for $25 from them, it arrived and the design on the front is OLDSCHOOL silkscreen, like the rubbery sweat-inducing crap from the 1970s. really? i haven't seen an "iron-on" kind of tshirt SINCE the 70s. every maker's been using whatever newer method where it's part of the fabric, for 2 decades now. screams cheap, it will eventually rip and peel off. pfff.

again just small stuff but FYI, especially on those flag stickers, i had been sooo stoked about their color and look for my OD jeep; and now i gotta pick between 2 sucky alternatives.

I've tried their clear-backed stickers; can't see them at all on my tinted rear windows. Useless for that purpose. Even the printed part is somewhat transparent, and you can't see the image at all. I re-ordered opaque ones.

did you put the sticker on the inside of the vehicle or outside?

i was thinking to put the clear on the outside of glass, thinking it would still allow some vision to what's outside (other vehicles, etc.) when i'm inside,
and it being -on- the outside i'd expect it being visible to anyone outside.

i also though have an OD green jeep and thought the clear back ones would look about the same as the opaque back ones in od, if i applied them to the side of the jeep. but i haven't tested anything yet.

i'll try to get some pics uploaded showing each model of sticker, but this was such a small complaint i wasn't sure was gonna take all the time and effort; they were only $4 and $5 a pop, but it was just annoying.

wow you're right! i just spent time checking all my stickers against my jeep and the clear ones also against various surfaces,

if you put a clear-back sticker against a dark tinted surface it washes out completely, basically whatever color is behind the clear sticker - that's what you'll mostly see;
so when it arrives on a white opaque backing paper, it looks great,
then if you applied the sticker to a dark surface it's toast.
In my case it could have ended up applied to a dark olive green, rendering the flag unseeable.

now i know, have to use the opaque back sticker on sides of my jeep; i had planned to but wasn't certain; now confirmed. thanks man!
