Hey! I just had a thought.
Ya'll were going to make up some t-shirts and maybe do a contest.

How about making first prize an annual membership and a shirt, second place a short and third place a booby prize?
(love the blue boobies up above!)

I would guess hes a kid and not alot of kids have creditcards. So if it was my mom i would give her $25 cash and shed give me her card number for the transaction.

I've put all "supporting" on hold (except giving to church) until my wife and I pay off all out debt on the 'Total Money Makeover' plan. I'll jump back on when I get out of debt. Since I have a big list of stuff, I decided to put everything on hold now, so I can support them all like I should in the future.

WF, VFW, Army Historical Foundation, Libertarian Party... just to name a few. $25-$35 bucks a pop adds up.

Well I know times are tough. But I'm glad some of you ponied up. Like I said, even if half of you signed up and supported this site it would help I'm sure. And I'm sure the rest (or most of the rest) of you will sign up soon. For those of you in financial straights I really do hope things get better. I'm very fortunate to have a job in an industry that never suffers in tough times. I was just lucky getting in 31 years ago now. Good luck to you all.

Trying to register now. Paypal is being a slow pain in the ass, but I'm sticking with it anyway. How do we choose which color sticker we get?

O.K. I just sent the money using paypal! I have never joined a forum in my life and never thought I would. After reading this site for a couple of months now, I used the knowledge of many people on here to redo my Jeep. I cant imagine how much money I saved using the many helpful members and non members on here. Thanks to all! Hey, if I can do it, most anyone can, I have become unemployed after 20 years at the same place. The way I see it, one less 30 pack of Busch Light and a bottle of Boones Farm!

At first, I didnt want to set up a Paypal account either, but 2 years ago I did and I buy everything using it. It is alot safer than giving somone your credit card number and you have protection. I use it on E-bay all the time, most everything I bought for the Jeep I used Paypal. You will love it once you get it!

Pokey.... I know you feel better already. Your now really in the family. Oh yeah....THANKS.

I was wondering if the Moderators ever thought of having a membership drive? Like dropping the fee to say half price for the first 100-200.....who knows might get some positive response from those in financial situations. Yo MODERATORS....comments???

The major reason i'm at this forum is that it's free. i think also that the class of people that are on here are good minded, well hearted jeep lovers and that the kindness i've received after i joined is priceless and should remain free for all who need help or wish to communicate with other like minded jeep owners. with that said i do think it would be nice if there was some kind of decal members could buy to place on there jeep to show support. but just like anything else and bast on the principles we hold dear as Americans. i thank it would be good to have a vote! one thread could be for weather or not this forum should charge for membership. and one for if there is no membership fee than would members want to pay for a custom decal to place on there jeeps supporting this forum. just my personal thoughts

i like the idea, but at the same time, the yearly membership fee is only $25. i think that is a pretty good deal as is. there are other forums that charge around $20 for 6 months.

I say as long as paying is optional who cares what it costs?

If paying $ were mandatory to do things like advanced search, it'd irritate me (like another Jeep forum I visit from time to time).

This whole paying to be a member thing kinda irritates me now that I think about it. I can understand donations to help the forum, but to be required to pay is asinine.

Forums are a multi-billion dollar industry. some of the larger forums are owned by large evil corporations that extort "vendors" out of large amounts of cash to continue being a "vendor"....or even a member. I'm much more likely to donate to a smaller privately owned forum, to avoid them selling it to the evil giants that ruin good forums. But I'm also sure that there are other people in this world who could use the money more than the administrators/owners of a forum....

Y'all got good comments and good reasons for joining/not joining. I'm not holding it against anyone. I really enjoy this site and I want it to be here for the long run. The people running it, the members, the non-members....we all make it what it is. A very worthwhile site, good conversation, good mods, good pics, great ideas, what more could we ask for? I do agree it should always a OPEN site....fee not required. And I don't consider it a "Fee" I genuinely consider it "Support".

You could say that, although I'm curious what extra material you guys have for Dm's.

Also, how do you become a lifetime member? It's an option I chose over on s10forum, but only say a yearly member here.

Right now I'm getting help for my g/f's jeep, I have an s10, so for me, I'm set. But if I get some extra funds and what not, I may just become a dm. Plus the stickers are always fun, I have my s10forum sticker to put on my truck. If WF gave two stickers, I'd put one on my truck and one on the wrangler.
