And the real reason to share this with all of you: the other side of our garage.
Jealous much? That's the TJ, the new JK, and a couple of UTVs in the overheads. Can't wait for the weather to get better, 'cuz I think we're going to need to head to the hills for a photo shoot!

Ya, I feel sorry for you having to have such a cool job and all. Show some more pics when you get to wheel them a little.

I'm actually not too impressed with the Raptor. I really need to go drive it through the desert before passing judgment, but it seems a little, um, cheap for the price. And the on-street performance is not spectacular. When you stomp the gas pedal, one expects a bit of a scare, a little neck tightening action. But nothing. Just a quick trip to the rev limiter. So that, coupled with all the cheap interior bits.... It's a nice Ford F150, but it was almost $40k!

Plus I think trucks should be trucks. If you can't go to the yard and have a front-loader dump right into it, it's not a truck.

But every time I drive it, young men give me thumbs up!

I'm sure they're just thinking "when I get really old like that guy, I'll be able to buy a sweet truck.."

The thing that kills me about the Raptor is how Ford is marketing it. They're saying that it has state-of-the-art suspension. I'm pretty sure the rear leaf springs on the Raptors don't qualify as state-of-the-art. Yeah, it's got reservoir shocks on the front. Not impressed. I've got nothing against Ford as a company (my daily driver is a Ford pickup), but they need to see the Raptor for what it really is......a high priced F-150 with cool bodywork...

but what you have to realize is people that are buying these are not always in "the scene" and don't know any better. they think they're buying a high quality hard-core off road rally truck when in reality they are getting what you said, a high priced F-150 with cool body work.

^ The Raptor has a 7" wider track width than a standard F150, it also has some super beefy cast aluminum lower control arms and a larger axle in the rear than whats available on a regular F150. Yes of course the shocks are "high end", it does have 12" of travel in the rear and 11" in the front which is quite a bit compared to a regular IFS truck. PLUS, they made good on the SVT name an now have a 6.2L option making 411Hp versus the 310 of the current V8. Never the less, I do like it for it's looks.
