Keep my '5 or buy a newer one

I have a 95 Wrangler that is showing quite a bit of rust. My BIL and I fixed up the body a couple of years ago, but even it's starting to show up again. Mechanic who inspected it said the rust is getter pretty bad.

My wife is pushing me to get rid of it, before it become too much of a problem, and get something newer, but I'm not sure. The jeep has been reliable, and I haven't had to put alot into it (other than what I wanted to put into it).

Any reason to keep the '95 and not go newer (that's not brand new, just later than 95). If I do sell it, any particular year or model that I should look for or stay away from?

I love my 99, TJs are great. They say not to buy anything built after 2004. The 05-06s reportedly have issues with the 6sp trans, and the JK is a JK and people hate them for whatever reason.

Want to sell that 95 to me super cheap so I can save its life and keep it on (and off) the road?

depends what your financial situation looks like. Are you ok with your money? Then buy a new one or a very nice used one. The ones that come through CarMax are usually really good. If you can't afford one, then just live with the rust for a few more years.

You could always get rid of it and find a clean one of a similar year to yours if rust is the real only reason you want to upgrade.

Another option would be to just drive it until it drops.

I think it depends on your financial situation. I have owned a 95,97 and a 03 I bought a 11 two weeks ago and I love it.

I would buy a nice pickup truck and trailer and use the jeep for a toy.
