Knock knock, whos there? Gremlins in my clutch! Question

Ok guys and gals, noticed a knock like a ball peen hammer coming from my clutch at idle.....is it throw out bearing or pressure plate?? When I push the clutch it stops....also do you think my airplane gearing is hard on the clutch? I think if the motor is bogged it is hard on my clutch....just wondering? How long can I wait to fix the clutch????? Should I tackle it ASAP

If the rattling noise goes away when you push the clutch in, then it's the throw out bearing, it can last a long time even though it rattles. Mine goes from a rattle, to a squeal when I push my clutch in, so I know mine doesn't have much life left, but I do have a new clutch kit ready to install when I get the chance!

Welcome to the forum! I installed a cheap clutch last June, and the very next day the throw out bearing started rattling!

Go ahead and replace it, friend of mine let it go until it left him stranded, clutch and a throwout bearing are cheap

Still in need of some neuro work on my spine, I'm putting everything off, except fishing, until then. Mine has some driveline vibration and some weak 3.07's in it that need addressed first. The knock isn't real bad and doesn't seam to be worsening....I will address it as soon as it seams to get worse in any way....I have cell phone and a friend owns a wrecker service....lol I can let it ride for now.
