Large Gap in Floor

When we lay down the back seats of our Unlimited there is a substantial size gap in the floor where the seats have been folded. It shows the chair metal structure. This doesn't bother me other than the fact that I can't allow my dogs in the back when we are driving as I'm afraid they may hurt their legs if they get caught in there.

Has anyone bought/made a mod that would cover the gap and perhaps I could then cover with a large mat?

I was hoping for something a little different but I'm afraid this is what I'll be doing. Thanks for the advice.
