Lift Type Questions

I haven't been able to find any one thread listing the different types of lifts and explaining what they are, (BB, BL, Suspension?) And I'm clueless.

I'm sure that I'll get lots of opinions, and have to dig for the facts, but I'll take whatever I can get.

BB = Budget Boost. Usually consists of just a 4-pack of poly spacers that go between your upper spring perches and your factory springs. Some companies sell their budget boosts with shocks, some do not. Your stock shocks will work, but the ride will PROBABLY be rougher.

BL = Body Lift. Just what it sounds like. Kits usually come as spacers that fit between your stock body mounts and your tub, some kits replace your stock body mounts entirely as the spacer is built into the mount.

MML = Motor Mount Lift. There are a couple of designs out there, but the end result is a better driveline angle to combat vibes. Most of the MMLs out there lift the front of the motor 1", so a 1" body lift is usually installed at the same time to keep your fan shroud centered around your fan.

As for Suspension Lifts, you'll have to do a search. There are a ton of them out there and EVERYONE has a different opinion on why they think THEIRS is best. Here is a list of a couple of good quality lifts.....

Rock Krawler
Rubicon Express
Old Man Emu
Etc..........

Don't feel bad about not knowing what these definitions were; when I started fresh with my Jeep about 3 years ago, I had NO idea what all these terms meant either!!

Hope this sheds some enlightenment on the definitions....
