light relays

ok I'm lookin for a relay to run my 2 55W and 2 130W lights on my front bumper to and from. I really really need to get one of these so I can complete my wiring for these PITA lights. I burned out an inline fuse already and now really need to get these set back up. can anyone tell me where a cheap place is to find a relay that would work for running all these lights to one switch? Thanks in advance.

Make sure you run a heavy gauge wire on the common side or you'll fry your wires with that kind of load.

i would install one single relay for every pair of the lamps. on that way you still have one pair of lights when one relay is defective
or only one 40A relay for all the lamps.

I'd go with the two relays, you can trigger both relays with one switch no problem. Just remember to fuse both +12v lines to the power side of both relays.

470 / 12 = 39 > i would install a +45A relay
260 / 12 = 21 > i would install a +25A relay

470W + 260W ??? how much lights do you have?

i have connected the 4x 130W hellas on my light bar in pairs to two 30A relays but they are both connected to the same switch.
and the 2x 100W hella fogs also have a 30A relay.

take care that you install the relay high enough that they´re water protected.

I have 6 lights total. 4 130W and 2 55W. I just bought 2 Hella 500's so I will be getting rid of 2 of the 130W lights on the windshield and replacing them with the Hellas. The hella's come with the relay and switch so thats one pair I will not have to worry about anymore. I;ll go pick up the 45A relay.
