What would be better to get front or rear lockers

Do you have a YJ,TJ I would not put a locker in a Dana 35

If you have a TJ,JK with a Dana 44 I would put a locker in the rear.

dana 35 is a weak axle.. and when locked in stock form it tends to place way to much stress on the shafts then snaps the axle shaft.. which then slides out of the axle tube...

my experience is that, if your going to do only one locker in any vehicle, its best to have a selectable, like an air locker, in the rear rather than the front, and only really lock it when you actually need it... if you have a non-selectable, like a detroit or even worse, a spool locker, in a vehicle that gets used on the road, A- cornering will be... interesting... and B- it can lead to premature axle failure on anything. some, like the D35, will just show the wear a hell of a lot faster than say, a D44 or something else heavier/better designed. as for the front, a selectable is always best, because a non-selectable will puke a Ujoint every time you turn on pavement unless you have manual wheel hubs... in my opinion, i would never use a non-selectable in anything that sees any pavement, although it does get done quite often...

Lots of stuff above that just is not correct. While running a full time locker in the rear it can give some pulling or pushing, however the world will not end, and the sky will come out the next day. This is based on me running the following lockers, ARB, aussie, lock right, Detroit on several different jeeps, so I know how they act. For the front, a non selectable locker will not blow a u-joint when turning on pavement in 2wd. Infact other than some light clicking sounds you usually don't know its in there. Now if you put it in 4wd on pavement..which you shouldn't do even with an open diff.. it will bind very fast. Thus to review..nothing wrong with running full time lockers front or rear on pavement. I will say that for a front full time locker if you get snow in your area, it can make it very hard to steer as the locker wants to fight for traction and steer at the same time.. thus a selectable is a good choice for the front.. out side of that.. not needed.

i have a personal vendetta against non-selectables after this... 37 in a 35 around a wet corner, professionally installed detroit... my own fault for not having any weight in the bed, but still... and i had a few close calls with a budy's chevy 2500 once or twice (detroit), and a lincon-locked bronco (front and rear) which is basically just a homemade spool...
