Look at this rediculous jeep, yes I bought it....

I came across this jeep the other day and I just had to save it from itself. I can't believe someone would buy a Rubi and do this.

I have had a couple of unlimited rubicons in the past and I already have the necessary parts to bring it back to its former self. It's a 2005 with only 27k and an automatic. I have already started removing all of the chrome and the crazy amount of electronics. I bought this thing cheap and I plan to resell it once I'm done.

The red unlimited is the one I plan on building in the next couple of weeks. It's an 06 with 19k miles and a 6 speed. The build will consist of these items....

3.5 Rubicon Express or Currie lift
Fox Shocks
AEV Highline Kit
AEV Argent Pintlers
ARB Deluxe Front Bumper
ARB Rear bumper with carrier
Warn 9500 TI winch w/ rope
5.13 Gears
Alloy shafts front and rear
37 inch KM2's

The list seems to keep growing....

Anyway, I thought it would be funny for everyone to see how strange a rubicon with 400lb's of chrome looks. No offense to anyone who finds it attractive of course.....

I love how that looks like a JK rubi tire/wheel on the spare, and then pure street tire...

All it is missing is a chrome grille overlay to go with the chrome inserts....

I would bead blast all that stuff and paint it all Flat Black. Would look nice then on my Green Sahara! A Gold mine of stuff that way. Some see ugly... I see potential...

While I'm not a chrome man myself I can appreciate it when used tastefully and on a darker colored Jeep. In this particular case, it's definitely NOT tasteful and I'm fairly sure the wheels are against the Geneva Convention! Thanks for saving this poor soul!

That's a TJ Rubicon Moab wheel. A JK wheel wouldn't fit on the carrier anyhow..

Don't laugh, but when I first got my TJ, I wanted all that chrome bling (minus the wheels). Luckily, I was too broke after keeping up with the payments and have grown a severe distaste for chrome since then. I even de-badged/dechromed my new car I got this month already.

I plan to pass on my TJ to my daughter when she graduates highschool. Then, I'd like to find a CJ7 to restore. THAT, I plan to chrome the hell out! Classic! But a TJ? Boo...

DEFINITELY too much chrome, but judging from the body, it appears to be in decent shape. Considering it's all "streeted out," it may turn out it's never been taken off-road, either; a sure "plus!"

Despite the hideousness, I would keep the wheel/tire combo for those times where you know you won't be getting off-road for a while; why wear down your good tires when you have a set of street tires to use?

Agreed there is way too much chrome and most of it needs to go.

I would love to have bought that, especially if it was as cheap as you say it was. I've been looking for an 03 or 05 Rubicon. It would be even sweeter to dechrome a Jeep. Great pickup!

I kid you not ! I swear I thought you were behind me last night on my way
home from work. I saw almost the EXACT same Black Jeep. What gave it
away was the one behind me had all the exact same chrome except the
roof lights. What it had was the spotlights up on the hood by the windshield.

It is definitely not any of our cup of tea, but that obviously fits the bill for a population of Jeep people.

What that looks like to me is a pile of cash........from selling all those chrome pieces on Craigslist.
