M151A2 Diesel ?

I know this is off subject, but it's still a Jeep type vehical.I have an exmilitary type buddy who thinks he's up on the latest military gismos. he tells me that the Marine Corps is testing a M151A2 with a diesel engine. the critera was that they need a small vehical that could get down narrow streets in nonhostile areas. it has to burn NATO fuel, which I believe is JP5,the same fuel aircraft, and heavy vehicals use.the engine is 3 cylinder diesel that is made in S.Korea or Japan. suposely Ford sold the dies for the Mutt to S.Korea.sounds like a Kobota engine.I sort of believe this because about 2 years ago the Marine Corps tested a motorcyle that was a diesel and used JP5.it was made by Yamaha, looked like a heavy duty enduro bike.I think a diesel engine in my Jeep would be cool, tons of torque

I should of stated this, the M151A2 is the Viet Nam era Jeep made by Ford Motor Company. Chrysler made some too but they would not alow Ford to use the Jeeps grill pattern. so the Mutts grill runs side to side. I drove one alot, they were a very good riding vehical, with full independent suspension, like a VW or Corvette. it was the first Jeep type vehical to run at 70 mph. but GI's are crazy and they tried to turn it sharp at 70 and the rear wheel folded in and they flipped over. the Mutt was blamed for this and the independent rear suspension was removed on later models. Mutt means Military Utility Tactical Truck = Jeep, Chrysler was contacted by the military to build the Mutt, but they were not interested. "lets just shoot our self in the foot" even though AMC had the Jeep at that time Chrysler still had money in it and control of it. AMC had sold partial rights to get funds to save the company, later they sold it all to Chrysler.
