mall crawlers unite

New to forum but I see a trend to bash the so called mall crawlers. Can't we all just get along. Long time 4x4 owner (trucks) Just bought a used Tj. This is my second Jeep. I own 4x4's because of the snow in the winter, my town don't believe in plowing the roads and I want to be able to get from point A to point B. 4x4 all the way. I work shift work in a steel mill and dont get two days off in a row except for once a month. I don't have big rocks to climb or sand to run thru. I get to enjoy the off road experience during the hunting season( here in Ohio) mostly fields, trails and mud so most of the time I'm wheeling it on pavement. Like lookin good though. As you can see by the photo I need to upgrade my Passenger tires for larger ones(33x12.5/15 ). All you experienced mall crawlers with let me know what brand of tire wears well on the road, great in snow, and can still get it done off road.

I've ran MTs on my DD and have never had much luck. I've struggled w/ wear issues and them trapping rain water and making driving on wet roads a little squirely.
I'll be going towards BFG AT's as soon as I can get the money together. Do you know what width your wheels are?
Oh and from NE Ohio - Go Bucs!

rims 15x7. First of year when the tax fairy comes I'm going 15x8 33x12.5/15. Have 3.73 will upgrade to 4.11 or 4.56. Still unsure which way to go.

Out of curiosity, why do you want 15x8's?

I'm looking to go w/ BFG's AT 33x10.5x15 and assume they will fit your 7" rim. (?)

15x7 steel Rims are rusted thought 15x8 alloy with new tires should be the way to go. Reduced weight.

Glock22'd - knowing what a Glock 22 is, I don't think I'd be too worried about a fist to the face.

I think you have the wrong definition of Mall crawler.

Trick question, no mall crawler will have a clue what tire can get it done off road...

For example.... tsl thornbirds rock... my cover would be blown....lol

I run MTR's on the jeep not great on icy roads seems like the wifes explorer does better w BFG allterains
Also I started off w a cheep spring lift helped ride and looked good w 31x10.5s

Just smear a little mud on the sides and you'll be set no more mall crawler

Even if you keep your Jeep clean it doesn't make you a Mall crawler. More like, being lifted with big tires and missing a certain drive shaft and never seeing anything but concrete......

I like a clean vehicle inside and out but I'm not afraid to get it dirty. I paid a lot of money and worked my arse off so that I could pay for it outright and not have a note to pay on it (Not many 19 year olds can say they bought their vehicle out right without help from mom or dad). I like a clean vehicle and don't like having to kick trash around on the inside and go to nice places and have dirt falling off on me or my passengers.

That is fine on the trail but I'd prefer to keep a clean vehicle when I'm not on the trail. I worked hard for it and I'm going to keep it working well and looking good. No one likes getting into someones ride and getting out and looking like Pig Pen from Peanuts or have trash fall out in front of everyone.

My personal choice and you can do what ever you want but it doesn't make someone a Mall crawler because they like a clean vehicle.

/endrant

I'm not angry just thought I'd clear some things up.

Yup, they like mud facials.

I wasn't directing it at you or anyone else. Just a statement in general.

My BFG Mall Terrain's never seem to wear much. They have great road manners, but clog up immediately when thrown in the mud.
I really like the rim protection ring at the bead.

Live south of Dayton but hunt and get off road in Jackson county when I can. I think I'm leaning towards Duratecs but nobody has mentioned them.

I had BFG ATs on my Dodge and they work great in the snow! When it was time for new tires I put procomp MTs on it! Great for mud not as good in the snow! Mall Crawlers are Jeep owners that won't even drive them across the lawn! Half the fun of trashing the jeep is making it shine again! This was last weekend!
