Question Metal clicking noise

Have a 08 Wrangler rubi. Have a noise when in gear, noise gets faster with speed but not louder. Overall noise is getting louder with time. Runs normal but noise isnt normal. Just sounds like a clicking noise doesnt sound like something is grinding. Has to be tran or drive shaft or something in transfer case since it only occurs when in gear. Any thoughts?

Is your Jeep lifted?? Sounds like a drivline problem. Maybe a Rpezza joint fixing to go.

Look at the Rpezza joints on the driveshaft(s). Is the rubber boot torn or ripped on any of them? look for grease slung all around the joints. These are sealed units, & if you spy grease slung out, it indicates a bad Rpezza.

Oops. I ment "Rzeppa" . Not Rpezza.

At any rate, must be Italian.

So this noise goes away if the jeep is rolling and trans in neutral? Or is the noise only under load, off and on the pedal?

noise

I had a noise like that and found the rightside u-joint was bad. Had it towed to the dealer for repair. Just got it home from the shop today they had to replace the axle shaft and seals. one of the caps came off the u-joint. hope the new one holds up better then this one did.
