Question methods of communication when out wheelin'

Hey guys,

What do you use for communicating with the outside world in case of an emergency? Any trail I go on, the cell phone coverage dies in the first like 100 yards. Is there some kind of radio equipment you use? If so, then what's popular in the jeeper community?

Cb radios is a good option. Most people in a group use them.

CB, FRS, and Ham are the most popular I've seen. Our group uses CB, and I'm working on getting a Ham rig together for the Jeep, but I don't know any other Jeepers that use it around here unfortunately...

My friend has a personal sattelight tracker so he can program it to send a msg to his site online & his friends can see exactly where he is on the site at any given time or he can have a distress msg to them , or it has a 911 button. Very handy for remote area's.

I just have a plain ole' CB

There's a whole communication forum with many threads to read.
