Looking to get back into the Jeep life after over a decade of not having one:dance:

I live in Metro-Detroit and want to start looking into finding a dealer/sales person that has a good track record. I have a strong distaste for sales people and seem to meet sharks every time (I know they are not all bad).

Im throwing this out there to try to find recommendations for people who have got good deals on Wranglers.
I plan to use the Tread Lightly deal or maybe the AAA buying program as a starting point. I will be buying a base Wrangler Sport. The only options will be: 3.73 gears, AC and Hardtop. From what I have found I will have to order it.

So anyone that has any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

-Nick

Check out the dealer in Chelsea, largest wrangler dealer in the state, easy 100 wranglers on the lot. Great people to deal with. I paid sticker only because my JK was a limited edition and a very rare color. But this time of year 2016 Sports should be a good deal.

I can tell you which ones to avoid since I shopped at them and they turned me off.

1. Suburban Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram of Troy - They're not that bad but not very good on negotiating price.

2. Golling Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram - Totally avoid these guys. Tons of high pressure sales people, will keep you there for hours trying to find ways to screw you and confuse you with numbers and if you look close at the numbers you'll realize they're trying to screw you. They told me they had a "demo" vehicle and would be able to give me a "great deal" since it was used for demo purposes and driven for 5K miles by the dealership manager. Items that I said were important to me, they tried to convince me that I didn't want/need them since they didn't have any available on the lot. In one particular case I told them I really wanted the dual top option. They spent hours trying to convince me that nobody uses both tops. They eventually said they would throw in a soft top, only to find out when I looked closer at the paperwork they were charging me $2K for it. The hard top had scratches all over the edges and tried to tell me it was never taken off. They offered me their "best price". I went to another dealership and got a non "demo" vehicle with 0 miles on it, and had everything and more than the one they were trying to sell me and I got it for $3K less than Golling's supposed lowest price.

That purchase was from Jim Riehl's Friendly on Van **** in Sterling Hts and that was a much better experience. No pressure and willing to work with you on price and features that are important for you.

+1 from Jim Riehl. I ordered mine from the factory with only a hard top, 3.73 and A/C. Mike Victor is (one of) their Jeep specialist and he goes wheeling pretty often, it seems. He was very busy when I was buying, so he had to reschedule often, but apart from that, he's very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable!

I emailed about 8 dealerships with exactly what I wanted and specifically mentioned ordering mine. Fox Hills in Plymouth was the only one to reply with a price (discounted) and information on ordering. Brian Mejia, the sales manager was the one who answered my email and gave me the price, and Tony Pizii was the one who handled the sale. They were great to deal with.

Good luck, let us know what you get and from where.

Jim Riehl's also does custom installs for Jeeps. The last time I stopped in shopping for a Renegade for the wife, they had this brand new Rubi on their lot with a Mopar lift, Nitto tires, and a bunch of other custom mods.

Apollo Nemo at Parkway Chrysler Dodge Jeep in Clinton Twp. I have been getting great deals from him for years and I send all my friends and family there. Got a great deal on my 16 JK Backcountry.
