Modify winch drum/line for heat?

I have a superwinch 10000, and manufacturer doesn't recommend synthetic line as the drum can get hot and weaken line. Has anyone added a thermal shield of some sort to protect the line from heat?

I'm thinking of making some kind of fabric sleeve that would wrap around the drum or the first 15’ of line similar to the rock guard sleeves.

You're asking for trouble by using a line not recommended. Does the advantage of synthetic outweigh the risk of line failure during a pull?
