as I was glueing a broken plastic peice back on the jeep, I wonder what other things people have done to their jeeps, you know along the lines of duct tape and baling wire?

ha ha I have wire wrapped around my tail pipe tying it to the leaf spring to keep the dang thing off my plastic dang gas tank which has a hole in it from the tail pipe plastic and an unshielded heat source is soooooo stupid thanks jeep and the previous owner for screwing me

well the CJ is in a couple pieces, did I mention the electrical tape on the oil plug thingie going into my valve cover, thats awesome, my ex BF was redneck mechanic who instead of a proper fix would rig things to work for awhile
me and the new one re wired my battery, coil and installed the starter (well he did 99.9% of it) my part was keeping the beer coming, and I am pretty sure we did it right, hvent had any real problems

I used gorilla glue to put my plastic shifter bezel back together in the TJ. Broke in 3 pieces.

And I used a paperclip in place of a cotter pin on my sway bar disco's

Zip-ties to hold my sway bar up that I never connect. Zip-ties to hold my hi-lift on my hood cause I took off driving with the wingnuts just sitting there.. I got new wingnuts yesterday and now i don't feel like such a redneck. I kinda miss it.

You probably won't remember, but a while back sombody was talking about "A Recovery list" and that was a couple of the items I recommended to carry--ALWAYS !!

A roll of duct tape/roll of elctrical tape and a hardware little box of --BAILING WIRE---

Hey, Tosh...
Your comment about your tail pipe melting your Fuel tank has me worrying a mite.
I dont reckon theres a convenient way for you to fashion your own little heat shield outta sheet-metal or a chunk of coffee can....or may bust a couple of hose clamps and some steel-wool.
Theres gotta be a way to keep the hot-bits away from the boom-bits.
I'm a bit envious.....my jeep doesnt have an afterburner.
lol jk
be careful.

yeah, it only leaks a tad bit of fuel ha ha, I just need to bite the bullet and jack it up and scrub it down and patch it properly and re wire the tailpipe to the leaf spring, I check it daily to see if it has moved , no worries

You've already advertised it on this forum--

----YOU ARE DRIVING a TIME BOMB----------------

I wouldn't try to patchit--thats dangerous enough-

Drain the tank and replaceit--then fix that pipe while you have the tank out

You're cruising for a bruisin --or worse !!
