Money spending question

This is simple, my GF and I are not agreeing

1.25" JKS BL, 1" MML, 2" bb and 33s

Or

1.25" JKS BL, 1" MML, 2"bb, Soft half lowers and uppers for summer

MD weather is kinda crazy, last year I could only take my full doors off on the weekends because the stupid weather man called for rain at 3 o clock every darn day with the soft doors I can just toss them in the back and put them on when it rains.. but 33s are so awesome and would make my gearing perfect, get rid of the crappy mtRs, and gain an inch of clearance... what to do?!

you write in your sig that you want a 3.5 RE in the future?

then i wouldn´t buy anything at this moment. safe some money and buy the 3.5 RE and the 33s some times later when you have the money.

if you know that you want a spring suspension in real, why do you think about wasting your money for a BB...?

Well damn. I'm agreeing with Nicolas-Eric again.

Save it up. By the sound of it you're already half way there anyway. Too many people have near new Jeep parts laying around their garage because they didn't buy what they really wanted the first time around. Get the spring lift, you'll be much happier in the long run.

interesting responses Thanks guys, and your absolutely right, but I need the BL/MML to make room for a tummy tuck/gas tank skid in the future. I figured the BB would also come in use later on down the road, if I got some sagging from bumpers/winches etc, so going that route now would be beneficial in the long run.

if your wanting to go bigger later on.. and already know you want the bl and mml.. id get it.. i wouldnt do a 2'' bb if you plan on getting a 3.5'' kit later on.. especially wasting money on new shocks to accomadate the 2'' bb..

if you do want some extra clearance until you get the 3.5'' kit.. id settle for a 1'' bb.. you wouldnt need any longer shocks, and wouldnt lose any flex by not getting longer ones.. then you'll have them laying around if you dont add them with the lift your wanting and plan on adding any weight like winches, or you could just leave them on with the lift for extra clearance.. you can get all 4 pucks for like $35 off ebay

plus.. 1.25'' bbl with 1'' bb'' on 31s would be about perfect.. then you'd have plenty of money for your soft doors that your wanting..

I agree with Mo.
1.25" BL, 1" BMML and 3/4 or 1" coil spacers and the 33's. Just don't hammer on it off road and you shouldn't have much of a problem. Then you can get the soft doors and your both happy.

My Rubi with 33's and only an 1.25" body lift. I drove it this way for a week while I waited for one of the back ordered piece of my 3" susp. lift to come in.
I did slow down going over speed bumps though

Thank You Sir.

That was back when the wheels and tires were brand new. They have had the crap beat out of them since then.

Not to hijack the thread but ive been wanting to do the same thing and add a 3" suspension lift later on down the road. As of now its stock but i at least would like to get an inch of lift on it when i put on the 31's i have. I dont want to do anything too expensive cause it'll be a waste of money, so do you think i could get by with putting 1" spacers on and leaving the stock shocks on?

Thats because you ordered from the wrong place. Everybody knows that Quadratec is just a price check.

Qtec get their junk from FT. Qtec is just a middle man between you and FT. Qtec even gave me FTs number and i personally talked to FT (their customer service suked and the person i talked to was very rude). The problem i have with Qtec is they lied to me when they said i will have the kit in my hands in less than 2 weeks.

Yes and No

Yes it was a full traction lift. No it was not their fault. The lovely guys in the brown truck decided that my box of lift parts would look much better with a hole ripped in the side of it.
So when I was missing a part I called Dave @ Northridge (Fantastic guy and Company), who called full traction, who overnighted me the part I needed. Whole ordeal took less then 3 days.

Never deal with QuadraJunk!!!! That place if for price checks only

Why not just go with a 1" or 1.25" body lift? Many mods down the road can benefit from the body lift. Like tummy tucks and gas tank skids. The 1" and 31's would look great Plus its not something your going to take off and pitch later, like a 1" coil spacer.

MML refers to Motor mount lift. It reises your engine up a bit (usually 1") but your tcase stays at the same height so it helps you out with the angles of your rear drive shaft and reduces driveline vibrations.

Good call scoob, makes sense. I was just figuring that the spacers would be easier to install than a body lift. Body lifts look like a PITA to install, but maybe im wrong...?

I installed a 2" body lift by myself with out any help. I'd say i'd do it again. A 1" BL would go even easier.

No its not really necessary but it will help in a couple area's

#1. Your engine and oil pan will be higher, thus further away from rocks. Always A good thing

#2. It will cut down on the drive line angles. So when you go that that 3" susp lift. You will have less chance of vibes.

#3 It will mean that you will not use as much of a transfer case skid drop when you do lift your jeep. Due to the better drive line angles again.

#4. You will not have to relocate you fan shroud when you do the body lift. Since they will both raise by the same distance.

There are others but I cant think of them all now

well. she wants to do the 1.25jks body lift, the 1" mml, and 2 piece bestop soft doors now, and save to get tires in a few months. I would like to get the tires now, since vector6 has 33" all terrains on 15in wheels within 3 hours of me for sale, but i guess ill keep her happy and do the BL MML soft doors now. dont wanna push my luck Besides, then I can save and do the suspension lift with the tires, rather than get a BB and have to cut it down later to a 1" when I sagg in the front.
