Mopar Rock Rails vs. Smittybuilt

I've been thinking about getting a pair of Rubicon rock rails for my 2012 JKU and discovered that Smittybuilt builds a version for about half the cost. I'm really curious how the two compare compare in quality and strength. I was going to consider buying Mopar used, but not if I could buy new for about the same price.

I found these Smittybuilts for $219.99 with free shipping:

Smittybilt Part 76636 - SRC Classic Rock Rails

Compared to Mopar's at Quadratec for $409.00:

MOPAR 82210586 - MOPAR&#174 Production Rubicon Rock Rails in Satin Black for 07-13 Jeep® Wrangler Unlimited JK 4 Door - Quadratec

I read somewhere that they are probably the same, built by a third party manufacturer and sold to both Mopar and Smittybuilt, as many things in life are. Can anyone confirm this as fact?

I eventually want to add Ace Rock Rails in addition to the above.

Any insight will be appreciated.
