More Girls than Guys driving Jeeps...

at least it seems that way in Des Moines, IA. i just got back into a Wrangler from a 6 year hiatus 4 months ago and i am noticing that the majority of drivers on the other side of my waves are female, and i am not getting the response i once did...

Now, im 100% all for woman and jeeps , they just seem to go together....but is it the 4-door that has brought more to us, or have they always been there?? Am i coming off as a creeper for waving??? LOL!!

Ive own 4 jeeps (85 CJ7, 00 & 03 TJ's, 12 JK) and before this JK, it was all sausage fest in my experience...but it feels good to have more of the opposite sex loving more things i do

I have only had one girl wave back to me and I meet her almost every morning on my way to work. The other 99% are giving us a bad rap.

I am a waver!!! But your right it seems that the 4 doors are the soccer moms.... Women love the looks of the jeep as well as the attention they get in them... Guys like girls in JEEPS!!! Especially in the thiers. lol There has never been any scientific studies on why women love the wranglers so much but it would be fun to take a pole. Maybe start a thread on here for women to tell why they love thier JEEP so much. It may give the men a better understanding.

These jku's make jeep #4 & 5 for me. I've been a jeep chick for about 12 years and i usually wave. (i do get tunnel vision on a really hot day and miss it at times.) And that's only bc I wasn't allowed to have a wrangler living at home so I had to wait till I joined the military and was living on my own. Dad said they rolled too easy..... Yet my car then was a bronco II...... I never said it made sense. Lol. (he owns a YJ now too. Lol. I converted him)

I have owned my JK for 3 years and I wave. I do notice that 4 doors, especially with other women don't wave.

You are here ladies almost always a woman behind the wheel, my wife would take my keys every day if I wasn't out first. Its time to organize, now get together on the couch in the bathroom, wish men had a couch, and let your fellow jeepers know to wave, you give us jkers a bad name.

The ratio of men/women drivers I see in Jeeps around here (St Lou area) leans heavily in favor of men. I very rarely see a female driving one. They're around but not in large numbers.

And not every JKU driver is a soccer mom either. Geesh, I'm so friggin' tired of seeing people post comments like that! A 4-door Jeep is no less of a Jeep than a 2-door is....and it's capable of just as much if not more! Yes soccer moms do drive them, but as this thread confirms, plenty of women drive Jeeps in general.....and always have! In fact, there are two women in the building I work who drive Jeeps. Both of them are 2-doors...and the three JKU owners in the building (including me) are all men. So much for that philosophy!

50/50 here in KC as well, though the ladies here are never looking to wave (but that's a whole 'nother thread )

So, it's 55% girls, 44% gays, 1% men (driving their GF's Jeep)[/QUOTE]

I'd say that post calls for a perma-ban.

50/50 here in Va. Seems most women do not wave back maybe 1 in 10, with male drivers 8 in 10.
