Mounting a winch help

My wonderful wife bought me a Warn M8000 for graduating college. Now the issue is mounting it. I have a Warn Rock Crawler Bumper and am ordering the winch plate to go with it. Does anybody have any pics of this winch mounted? Where did you put the sileniod pack? Any tips on where to run the cables? what about in-cab controls? wow I have a lot of questions.... thanks in advance.

She sounds like a keeper. Here's the winch on my YJ. Not the best pic, but it's what I have at work. The bracket that comes with it sits the solenoid on top of the winch.

I'd say it's really up to you. The stock way that warn sets up that winch looks pretty clean. I've also seen a bunch of guys run longer cables and put the pack under the hood. If you leave it out best way to run the power cables is thru the grill and along the fender to the battery.

thats a great winch. I just mounted it regular like with the solenoids sitting ontop of the winch's motor and electrical connections. I've read about having the solenoids under the hood, but honestly it sounds like it would be a hassle to access when you really needed it. And I usually just have the wired controller snaked accross the top of the dash and is readily available for use and i can always hand it to a friend outside the jeep for them to control if needed.

I told my wife that I had bought the winch for Father's Day (for myself) and the labrador added the Warn bumper, plate and bull bar. She laughed and was a good sport.
