Mounting License Plate New Bumper

Hello everyone. I had ordered a set of Smittybilt bumpers for my YJ and really like the way they look. The thing that has me a little concerned is that there are not any mounting holes for the front plate. In CA it is a easy ticket to not have a plate on your vehicle. I would prefer to not have to drill holes into my new bumper and I am hoping someone may have a suggestion on how to stay legal. Thank you in advance.

Drill the holes and use hexhead or security bolts or some dirtbag will steal it around here.

Ahhh, I thought you had ordered the same tube bumper that I have, sorry....

No clue how you can mount the plate to that one, maybe zip ties?

4wd.com has license plate brackets that mount to a roller fairlead. Sounds like a great excuse to buy a winch! Gotta stay legal right??

maybe you could make a mount that bolts to the bumper mount, or any other bolt hole, that will hold it up.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. I am going to see if I can rig up a bracket. Although I do like the excuse to buy a winch. Just gotta convince the wife about that one.

Mount it on the bolts that you mount the bumper to.

The big bolts

What are you using them for?

If they're for decoration then I'd tighten them up so they don't get stolen in the city.

I drilled 2 small 3 millimeter holes and installed the license plate like this:

2 words: Red Loctite.

Or, you can just remove them so they don't get stolen.

if you get a winch, get some mag-light holders from home depot or similar place and put them on the fairlead roller... like this... (look real close at the license plate) I used 4 bolts to attach it to the mag-light holders and clipped the holders onto the fairlead rollers.
