moving an 92 engine into a 97

hello boyz and girlz,

I hope I posted in the right forum....

I need someone a little more knowledgeable than me to answer this.

I have a brand spanking new '92 wrangler engine (6cyl 4.0 in both). Will the block replace my old tired 97 block? Both have AX-15 driveline.

Is the engine the same?

ok so i read that the 92 are OBD I vs OBDII... but can I take the block and head out and just throw it into the 97, with the 97 manifold?

thanks in advance....

Mike
