mufflers

I have a high flow cat and a dynomax muffler but the muffler has fallen apart after about a year
the flow master sounds good but a $100 is a lot for just the muffler

I was looking at the cherry bomb vortex muffler or there pro muffler
I was wondering if anyone has heard one of those mufflers on a jeep with the 4.0

just so you know what I'm talking about

dont get a cherry bomb they sound like shit on jeeps, they're made for ricers and sports cars, you want a rumble from ur jeep not a high pitched whine

i think when people think of cherrybombs they think of a straight through glasspack...and i definitely wouldn't get that...but a regular case muffler like you listed looks like it would be fine.

you can find flowmasters new on ebay for a little cheaper than $100 including shipping

btw, i just listened to a vortex muffler on a toyota 4.0L and it sounds like a regular muffler (like a flowmaster if not a little better)...definitely not that glasspack sound. sounds pretty much like a flowmaster would have sounded (a tad quieter...sounded better IMO). i think it would be alright on your jeep.

on ebay the flowmaster is like $90
and the super44 offroad muffler is $110

I was only looking at the cherry bomb welded mufflers because they are a little cheaper
and the vortex looks like it will sound good and hold up to more then a year of use
plus I was a little disapointed in the sound of the dynomax

I had a cherry bomb on my cherokee 4.0, it didnt sound exactly like a rice burner, but it didnt sound that great either, I wouldnt put the same one on.

I too am looking to put a new one on, but again not the cherry, not really sure where to go. Some people recommended magnaflow over flowmaster? Anyone know of any sites that have the audio on jeeps? I dont want go through all the trouble of putting it on and have it sound like ass

If you don't care for the sound of the cherry bomb after you get it, take a listen to the hp2 hushpower-2 from flowmaster. It doesn't sound dumb and gives a lot of clearence for long arm suspension and its not loud. The only ones that would fit between my drive shaft and long arms were either small which meant loud or too wide to fit, so I went with the hush power and it sounded great.

Do you have any audio clips, or know where to get them, Jeep specific?
