My RUBI got stolen!!!!!!

Last night after midnight I saw it last when I walked my dogs. Today at 0830 I walked the dogs and the jeep was gone. Reported it to the cops. I had a viper alarm but wasn't armed but how did they start the car? Did the thief towed it? I called the towing company they don't have my vehicle. San Diego jeepers please keep an eye on my jeep 702 YZX FL plate. Sad day ..... the pic of a tree next to my jeep was taken yesterday...

Post it in the California section will probably get more views and they will all be in California. California Jeep Forum - Jeep Wrangler Forum

That sucks that it got stolen. They could have towed it and I think that is how Jerry B red jeep got stolen down by SD too.

I don't get it? Why towed? Can they just hot wire the rig?

Poor Jeep is probably somewhere in Mexico by now, San Diego is one of the worst spots in the nation to get your Jeep stolen

Cuz I have the viper alarm? I dunno, thought they needed a key w/ a chip inside to start the car.

What would you rather do?

Sit in a car for a couple minutes trying to find the wires and get it started by hot wiring it with an alarm system that probably has a built in kill-switch....

OR

get 4 or less people to go and put two dollies under the rear tires and jack up the front on a tower and be done in less than a minute and be on your way to a chop shop or Mexico since it happened down by the border( Not trying to be a downer to the OP).

RubiChick give it a day or two before you start looking on Craigslist they will probably not put it right up after they stole it. I have had a couple stuff stolen that were found on CL a week or so after they were stolen.

That sucks bad. If you had a Viper with perimeter system and it failed that's even worse. I hope you get it back.

Noticed you had Florida plates and are now in CA. I'm in Texas, it's VERY common for individuals from Mexico to cross borders, steel nice cars, take them back to Mexico to never be found again. Hate to say it but its happened a lot.

And on that sour note, enjoy that new white rubi

USAA is giving the police 20 days to recover the car then after that will process the paperwork. Should I wait? Even if the TJ is recovered I still intend to sell it cuz most likely it's bare to the bone when the cops locates it.. so ill put it back to stock and sell it what do you all think I should do?

It sucks, but I would personally wait. You can change your mind on selling the TJ if it's recovered in good shape - can't take back a new one to the dealer as easily

Keep looking, be patient, and let this run it's course. If it is not found you should have a nice check to go towards the new Rubi.

WOW that sucks. I've had a couple cars stolen in the past. Your left feeling so violated. I hope it all works our for you. Crazy as it is everything happens for a reason. Maybe you were meant to have that new Rubi.
