Need help choosing a top

The soft top on my tj is crap and I would like to replace it however I do not really have a lot of money to spend. I liked the look of the rampage frameless soft top and also the price of it but I have read on different sites that it leaks and I need something I can use year round. Can someone recommend A good top at a decent price?

I was actually looking at the smitty built last night but the frame on my soft top is sort of bent so if I don't go with a frameless setup I will want a new frame too. Might have to just keep my eye on CL like u said.

Can't you bend the frame back?

I have tried briefly to bend it but it didn't change it much. Ill have to wait till a sunny day to try n take it apart n try again. Hopefully good weather will come soon because even though it isn't much getting in the rain is killing me. Apparently duct tape wont solve everything lol

Maybe you can heat it up or put it in a vise/clamp and make it work.

If $$$$ is an issue, you can usually find decent tops being sold used on CL (like Big Green says). Might be able to find one cheap to use for a while until you can get the one you want.

Example:
http://louisville.craigslist.org/pts/3016215462.html Note that the hardware is all included too.

I just got the sailcloth replace-a-top with tinted windows thru Amazon and Morris for $550. I love it. Great top, but not cheap.

I Started looking around on CL and found that people around here were charging way too much for crap. I ended up lookin around a bit more online and decided to go with a Bestop Trektop NX. I really liked the look of it and best thing is since its frameless I wont have my slightly sideways looking roof from my bent frame anymore. I cant wait.

If you want a new top the Bestop supertop comes with new frame work so you won't have to worry about fixing your old stuff. Bestop 51709-15 - Bestop® Supertop® for 97-06 Jeep® Wrangler TJ - Quadratec

I have this top and have no complaints with it. I put a smittybilt top on my last jeep but sold it shortly after so I have no idea how long they last. I've had bad luck with smittybilt stuff before so I would not buy that top or any of their stuff again. YMMV

I've had the rampage since february. It's worth it to me. No leaks.
