Need info on buying this jeep

A buddy of mine has a super clean YJ that he is selling for $500. It has both hard and soft tops 6cyl manual. The problem is its from canada. My understanding is that the guy from Canada drove it down and met my buddy on my the USA side of the border and he paid cash. So I'm pretty sure there is no title. My gf is the one looking at buying it cause she needs a car and likes wranglers. If there is no title and its a canadian car is there anything you can do in order to get a title and registration and plates? Anyone deal with a situation like this? Only reason my buddy is selling it is because he has a truck 2 cars and a mini van and 6 kids which one is about to start college and he cant afford to have an extra toy.

wait, your friend is the one who drove it from canada, or someone drove it to him? if it's the latter, maybe he's not the one who stole it... but $500 for any running vehicle is a good price IMO, let alone a "super clean" running jeep wrangler... it does run right?

kinda fishy, the tops alone are worth more than you're paying. i agree w/ justgotajeep.

and all states are different on the issue of tagging it. but sounds like you won't be able to tag it easily
