New Jeep

I just bought a new Sahara. Do I need to buy a special tool to take the hard top off with.

If I remember correctly, I believe they were torx bits on my 08 when I had a hard top. I doubt you need a special tool. If the top is going to be on and off a lot you may want to look into the fast connectors for it. They are kinda like big wing nuts and require no tools what so ever.

Congrats on getting to new jeep. Definitely take a trip down to Home Depot/Lowes and pick yourself up a mechanics tool set. This will help you in the future for taking off your top, changing your bumpers/side rails, installing your lift, and anything else under the hood.
