New wrangler soft top troubles!!!

hey everyone. I just bought a 70th anniversary jeep wrangler and installed the soft top. The problem is, i think i installed everything right, even though it came with no instructions. The problem is that everything seems to be sooo tight! I put the sunrider position, (half way), and now I cant close the "SOFT TOP WITH THE FRONT HATCHES!!! ? Even the side windows are now 100% locked in the slid. Any suggestions, I have it sitting outside but not latched in. Was thinking of taking it all apart and redoing it all because everything seems so tight. Youtube videos make it look so easy but its not

it's supposed to be tight, heres a tip leave the windows out and clip in the front first before anything then your sides above the door and pull down on the back bar to hook in your corners then zip in the windows, thats how I do it...easy

thanks for the reply. I just dont get why from the sundrider position, the 2 clips at the front wont clip back down. Everything seems correct when installed. You say to leave the windows out and stuff, but I have to do this everytime when putting the top just in a sunrider position??

The two sail panels are still attached in the back of the Jeep which is keeping it really tight. You need to release those to give yourself a little slack and then you should be able to get the clips into place. I went through the same trouble when I first got my soft top.

I positioned the front clips and then installed the windows, then clamped closed.
Ten minutes later I totally undid the front to fold it back and had a heck of a time reclamping.
I used one side to bring the other clamp in range and then clamped tight.
It's a far reach for one person. A few days in the sun should stretch the top and it gets easier.

Well, i got everything on. I undid the windows at the back and was able to snap in the latches in the front. Then put the windows back in. The only thing I see now is that the rear side windows are not 100% sealed to the lip. The top of it still comes out a little, but should all stretch in your guys opinions? Also anything I can do to make it stretch easier, like spray water or something??

Let it sit out in the sun and let the top stretch out. Give it some time, after a couple of months it will get easier. If you have the patience, leave the top up for a couple of weeks and that will get it to relax. Good Luck!

soft top

Had same problem with 13 JK. Could not get it to close. Finally did but seems a tad short where top meets front windshield. More air noise now?? Pretty hard to get it to grab the header latches. Any help would be appreciated!!
