Newbie ques/2012 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited soft top

Hi all, we just got our Jeep in May and took off the hard top as soon as we could (What a heavy-ass pain BTW! You need like 6 huge guys to handle it!). We drove around awhile with the soft top down but when it was time to put it up, the latch that should be located above the rear doors that's supposed to hold the header part seems to be missing! I've taken off the padding of the roll bar to see if it's there but it's not. I've watched the instructional video a hundred times and went on YouTube to see if there were better videos out there and every video shows that the middle of the soft top has to be latched to the roll bar.

So right now the soft top isn't secured in the middle to anything. It's just latched in the front. And because the soft top isn't sitting securely down, the soft windows in the cargo area aren't flush with the rear doors so rain can get in and I don't want to take it out when the skies are threatening rain! I'm taking it to dealer this weekend so they can show me what we're doing wrong but would love to get and answer here first! Any help would be much appreciated!

I've only had my jeep a little longer than you, but when you take off the hard top to put on the soft top, there are some plastic frame thingies that you have to install that goes around your rear doors and across the top of the front doors. I don't remember what they're called and the manual/DVD doesn't mention them. They should have come with the soft top. Anyway, those have that latch you're talking about. As for installing them, I think they are labeled with letters or something, but it's pretty easy to figure out. There are 6 screws, 3 for each side, to bolt them in place.

I'm sure there's someone here with more experience that can explain them better. I've only put them on the one time.
