Newbie question

Hi, im thinking about getting a wrangler to offroad at the badlands in indiana. I was wondering what you guys think is the best used wrangler to get for this purpose, but also to drive on the road. Also i was wondering what a few first good modifications would be? thanks for your help

The JK (07-present) is more road friendly and is amazing off the road. If it is in your budget, go with a JK. In my opinion, it would suit your needs perfectly. Honestly though, I have a TJ (97-06) that I use as a daily driver and it's fine, bumpy, but fine. TJs are cheaper in price so that is a plus. If you want to go real cheap in price, go with a YJ (87-95). They have leaf springs so it is bumpier than a TJ and JK (both have coil springs), but there are people who use them as daily driver and enjoy them. In terms of offroad, everyone has their opinions on which jeep model is best. ALL wrangler models are amazing offroad. Any wrangler you choose, you will love it.

As for modifications:
First: take the jeep offroad and you'll see how capable it is stock. Judging by it's performance, you can then predict your future mods.

Hope that helps and welcome to the forum!
