News on Nth Degree

This info comes from an email a member posted from Nth over on Rubiconownersforum. I'd post the link, but you have to be a member over there to read anything. Instead I'll just post the email text. Looks like the company as it's known is now defunct. They do have a few good products so hopefully as Jim says below the line will be picked up by another manufacturer. There are some rumors as to who that is, but I personally won't speculate on this board.

----------------------------------

Dear Nth Degree customer planning to attend WWII:

It is with great regret that we announce the closing of Nth Degree Mobility. We have suffered a series of setbacks over the past 7 months that we have been unable to recover from, and so with great regret, we have closed our doors as of last week. This also means that Wheeling Weekend II is now cancelled – with double apologies for the late notice/bad timing! We apologize for every inconvenience our sudden closure causes you, but it was not for us to decide. We have greatly appreciated all of your support over the years, as we have/had one of the strongest customer bases of any company we know of…and we’re sorry to have to disappoint all of you. We sincerely thank you for believing in us enough to buy our products and liking us enough to be planning to visit/wheel with us next weekend, but sadly this will not be possible as we will not be here nor is there a ‘here’ to gather at.

For what it’s worth, we are in talks with a well known manufacturer who may pick up and carry on the Nth Degree line of products; if that happens you will hear from them when they announce it (not sure how soon that might come).

Take care and may all of your off-road adventures be awesome!

Nicole & Jim

Yeah I've been reading that over on ROF. That's sad news for a very forward thinking company.

Bad thing is that only the biggest parts houses can afford to keep certain things in inventory. Take here in Phoenix. 4WheelParts is probably the only one that can keep several thousand dollars worth of stuff on hand. Wheelers doesn't even do huge buys unless they know it's a product that will sell pretty well. So I doubt most of the guys we all buy from will have any Nth inventory.

I noticed on JF yesterday that Jason from Redrock 4x4 posted to have anyone that ordered Nth from him and hasn't gotten it to contact him that he will refund their money even if he can't get his money from Nth.

I was talking to Jason just a few months ago about RE lifts and he was so excited to finally become an Nth dealer.

He also mentioned in that thread that that his customers wouldn't lose any of their money and that they would bear the burden of any expenses due to lost orders. I'd say that's pretty white of him.

I know - thats the horribly sad thing. Most online vendors are just that, middle men who take orders. I was also looking forward to them releasing their new High Fenders later on this year... but that will never happen now.

BTW - anyone have a set of smasher basher guards?

"Rumor".

I heard Kentrol Stainless is buying them. They're supposed to have an all new "Chrome To The 5th Degree" kit out by Christmas.

If Scout was buying them out, I'd offer $100 for some Smasher Basher guards
