NorNv snow

Well here's the last snow for 12-2010-

It was heavy in Feb/March, this year, so come 2011 and I'll have some more REAL snow to play in!

We just went out (20 minutes from house) to see what it was like at 4800 ft-not much-

Coulda waited till tonight, but there's ZOMBIES out there and my wife doesn't like gunfire !!

Cheers

JIMBO

We have stayed several times at Sunrise Valley RV Park in Mina. Mostly ride quads and bikes from there. A few Jeeps. Good times with good folks

JIMBO here's the western slope of the Sierra @ 5,000 ft the day after Christmas.

PG&E already up there doing some repair work!

Cabin evening shot.

And the next morning!

Yep unless you've got a snowmobile. The Quincy La Porte road ends about a hundred yards from my place and then that road becomes a snowmobile track. The club grooms it and they have warming huts throughout the area and unless you have a track-layer you're not going to get there.

I talked to a guy just getting into a quad tracklayer and he said he paid 25K for it with a 10% discount. Seems kind of pricey for my blood.

Kevin, you probablly won't believe be, but if the snow has a high water content, anybody in your club with load range c/d A/Ts or medium MTs and auto tranny, can drive over that snow--

Not near as easy as the quad, but except for sharp turns and off camber hills--it's drivable !!

Yeah Jimbo you're right but they have a big swinging gate crossing the road to Quincy closing it off and you'd probably get shot by the snowmobilers if you were even able to get by. In the wintertime up here that's their territory!
