Odometer and towed jeeps

If a Jeep is towed behind an RV, does the odometer reflect those miles or does the engine have to be running? I am searching for a used Jeep and sometimes see a disclaimer that the actual miles driven do not reflect what is shown on the odometer because it was towed behind an RV. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

To the best of my knowledge, when towed the speed sensor is not being turned, and so no odometer reading being added.

Normally you pop the T case into neutral to tow them, this unlocks the connection between the wheels and transmission.

97 Sahara, 74 Renegade, 72 CJ5, 55 Willy's (the Beast) Boss 302, 6:34 gearing, Bose 901 speakers.
God I miss that Jeep. Forgot the kinda Jeep, 80 SX4.

What kind of Jeep? I used to tow my '04 Wrangler for years behind the motorhome.

Transfer case in nuetral. Tranny in Park, or gear if manual. Ignition on first forward click will unlock the steering wheel, but send no power through the Jeep. (It's all outlined in the owners manual)

No miles accrued on Jeep, no problems.

Happy Camping!!
